Decaying shell found in pond between Eagle Ridge and Heronglen

This is what the shell looked like ten days later, after being out of the water and bleached by the sun.

Little blue heron, Egretta caerulea

 puffball mushroom, believe it to be Lycoperdon marginatum

Brown anole, anolis sagrei, resting on a pygmy date palm, Phoenix roebelenii, bloom.

Wildflowers, all taken in conservation area near Eagle Ridge. Three of the small joys to be found by homeowners, visitors and those looking to buy and live in FishHawk Ranch.

Young green lynx spider,

Peucetia viridans (Hentz)

Green anole, Anolis carolinensis.   Found throughout FishHawk Ranch, however, they are becoming less common due to the aggressive behavior of the brown anole.

A beetle about 3/8 inch long, iridescent green and coppery color. Believe it to be the species 

 Anomala marginata, a scarab-type beetle. Found 

 throughout FishHawk.

Fun to find and watch, but probably not a very good snack!
